I understand the confusion and apprehension that comes with the decision to start or return to therapy, and can help to give you clarity and confidence to move forward and do the work to help you feel whole again. Therapy can be helpful in many different ways, and I am here to help you meet your personalized therapy and life goals. Therapy is not easy, but it is worth it! I am a non-judgmental listener, supporter, and collaborator, and I will work with you to develop goals and plans that work for you, while challenging you to grow and move out of your comfort zone. If you want to feel calmer, more balanced, more focused, less stressed, or just need to sort through some things, I can help. I want you to feel empowered and emboldened to achieve what you want in life.
I have experience and/or a special interest in working with individuals, couples, and families with the following situations/concerns:
Adoption
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Communication Difficulties
Family Dynamics/Issues
Foster Care
Life Transitions
Mood Disorders
Parenting Concerns/Skills
Personality Disorders
Recent Life Stressors
Relationship Issues
Self-Esteem
Sexual Boundary Issues
Social Skills Deficits
Trauma History
I utilize several therapy approaches including Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, and come from a trauma-informed, feminist theory background. I believe that we all have a unique identity unlike anyone else, and it is my job to seek to understand your identity and how that shapes your worldview. You have your own story to share, and sometimes you need to shake things up to change the parts of the story that don’t work for you anymore. That’s where I come in.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, playing/watching sports, dabbling in my photography hobby, eating out at new restaurants, playing board games, and watching a new show or movie. I love taking long walks with my kids, relaxing/swimming at the beach, and enjoying time outside to connect with nature and decompress.
