Are you having a hard time with new challenges you’re facing or with tough issues you’ve been struggling with for awhile? You may be feeling alone, overwhelmed, and stuck with how to make the changes in your life that you desire. It takes a lot of courage to start talking with someone about deeply personal concerns. If you decide to work with me, you’ll likely find me to be kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, practical, and challenging when it’s helpful.
I have specific interest and experience working with adults of all ages who have concerns related to:
Anxiety and Stress, including Panic Attacks
Depression and Mood Disorders
Insomnia and Sleep Concerns
Life Transitions
Identity, Purpose, and Values Clarification
Relationship Difficulties
Career and Work Issues
Trauma
Low Self-Esteem
My clinical approach varies depending on the individual, their concerns, and their goals for therapy. I have specialized training in techniques that have been researched and proven to be effective including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT-I for chronic insomnia, mindfulness-based stress reduction, solution-focused, strengths-based, and insight-oriented therapy. Overall, I use a collaborative approach during therapy that emphasizes the whole person (mind, body, and heart/spirit), and that focuses on applying the individual’s current strengths and developing new skills to cope, grow, and increase well-being.
I cherish all the time I get to spend with my family, friends, and our cute dog. In my free time, I love drawing and painting, traveling, snowshoeing, playing board games, and walking around the city lakes and state parks.
