Do you find yourself feeling stuck or notice feeling overwhelmed with things you previously were not bothered by? These are challenging times and maybe you aren’t feeling quite like yourself.
Starting therapy can feel scary and I want you to know you are not alone in this feeling. Therapy can be hard work, as it requires you to share and be vulnerable. It also allows you the space to process independently from others’ opinions or attitudes to sort through thoughts and emotions. As a therapist, it is important to me to meet you where you are in your journey to balance and healing. Throughout our work together, we will identify specific goals to address areas of concern, build awareness and meaning around challenges, and allow a safe space to process deeper emotions. Upon meeting with me, you can expect a down to earth approach to therapy where I will offer you support, compassion, and empower you to reach your goals.
I have special interest in working with adults (18+) who are eager to make changes and may be struggling with concerns related to:
Social Anxiety
Life transitions
Life/work balance and burnout
Women’s issues
Recent life stressors
Trauma
Career and work concerns
Identity issues
Navigating challenges after recovery from substances
Tobacco or other nicotine related substances
In my clinical practice, I believe everyone is different therefore my approach may vary based upon the needs of the individual. When describing my clinical orientation, I usually say I consider myself “eclectic” meaning I use different evidenced based practices well researched in the field to meet your specific needs. Some of these modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, and I often utilize skills derived from DBT for emotional regulation. I have specific training, experience, and certification in the practice of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (I-CBT) for the treatment of obsessive and compulsive disorder.
When I am out of the office, I love spending time in the outdoors with my partner and our puppy, Winnie. I also enjoy trying new food/restaurants and traveling to different places. If given the choice, I would choose the mountains over a beach as I LOVE hiking!
